The release of the compact MPV Maxus EG50 took place in 2019. Instead of an internal combustion engine, an electric motor is used here, which develops from 115 to 177 horsepower and from 250 to 310 Nm, depending on the version. It rotates only the front wheels, delivering traction through a 1-stage planetary gear reducer. For the first few years of serial production, a traction battery with a capacity of 53 kWh was used, which allows you to travel up to 300 kilometers without recharging. During the subsequent modernization, as part of which it was possible to place a battery with a capacity of 70 kWh in the niche under the salon, the range was increased to 420 kilometers, which significantly increased the number of usage scenarios for this MPV. In all versions, the onboard charging device supports operation with direct current power sources, which makes it possible to replenish approximately 80% of the battery capacity in just 40-50 minutes.

The car was initially created both as a family and corporate transport. To a large extent, for this reason, the line is composed of versions designed for 6 or 7 passengers.
