The Foton Tunland G7 pickup appeared in the Chinese brand's model lineup at the beginning of 2024, when official deliveries to our country began. The vehicle is one of the variants of the Tunland F9 of 2019, and is primarily intended for commercial use.

Characteristic features

The vehicle is a classic frame pickup of medium size, but at the same time meets modern comfort requirements. A 2-link suspension is used at the front, and a non-split axle and leaf springs are used at the rear. The pickup is available exclusively with a two-row cab and a cargo platform length of 1520 mm, like the previous model with a standard frame. With a total mass of almost 3 tons, the pickup is designed to transport cargo weighing up to 905 kilograms. Under the hood is a 2-liter inline-four diesel engine with a turbocharger from the Aucan family, developed by the Austrian AVL. At peak loads, this power unit produces up to 162 horsepower. In the base versions available on the domestic Chinese market, it is combined only with a mechanical transmission. More equipped modifications make an 8-speed "automatic" from ZF available. Another difference between the "Chinese" versions is the presence of rear-wheel drive. The "export" version uses a four-wheel drive transmission with a front axle engagement clutch controlled from a "coin" in the car's salon, as well as a rear differential lock.

The pickup, even in the initial configuration, offers a fairly extensive list of equipment - climate control, multimedia system with an 8-inch touchscreen display, "cruise", rear parking sensors, engine start button, electric heating of the front seats, and artificial leather trim. The most expensive versions offer comfort on the level of well-equipped crossovers, making available cameras with a 360-degree view, the ability to select engine, transmission, and ABS operating modes, along with a complex of electronic driver assistance systems based on adaptive cruise control.
