The BELDJI joint closed joint-stock company represents a unique project in the field of automotive manufacturing for Eastern Europe. Located between Borisov and Zhodino, this Belarusian-Chinese joint venture was created with the ambitious goal of becoming a major industrial hub for the production of modern passenger cars. Founded in 2011, it initially focused on the assembly of cars from the Chinese Geely concern, combining advanced technologies with production capabilities. The enterprise, with a design capacity of 60,000 cars per year, is a key link in the region's industrial strategy and an important bridge for export to neighboring markets.

From large-node assembly to its own brand

Starting work in 2013 with the assembly of a large-node type on rented areas, BELDJI quickly grew. The first model was the Geely SC7 sedan, followed by crossovers. However, the real qualitative leap was the opening in November 2017 of its own full-cycle plant operating on a small-node assembly technology. This made it possible to introduce a full production cycle, including body welding and painting, which significantly increased flexibility and quality control.

A crucial milestone in the company's development was 2023, when its own BELGEE brand was presented. This strategic decision allowed the company to move to a new level, offering the market models adapted to regional preferences based on proven platforms from the Chinese manufacturer. The first car was the compact X50 crossover based on the "Coolray". The success of the brand was evident: already in 2024, more than 59,000 cars were produced under the brand, including the X70 crossover and the S50 sedan. The entry into the Russian market was particularly successful, where an extensive dealership network was deployed in a short time.

Technologies and prospects

The enterprise is consistently moving towards increasing technological independence. In 2024, its own production of bumpers using large-scale casting was launched, and plans include a significant expansion of the painting shop and the full-scale launch of car seat production. These projects are aimed at deepening localization and increasing efficiency.

Special attention is paid to the future of mobility - electric vehicles. In 2025, BELDJI announced its preparation for the assembly of its first electric car, the Geely EX5. This step marks the beginning of a new era for the plant and opens access to the rapidly growing segment of environmentally friendly transport on key export markets.

Economic effect

BELDJI plays a significant role in the country's economy. The enterprise is a major taxpayer and employer, and its products account for a significant share, both in the domestic market of Belarus and in the structure of industrial exports. The main direction of export has historically been the Russian Federation, which is confirmed by sales volumes. The company not only meets demand but also forms it, offering modern, technological, and affordable cars that meet the requirements of regional consumers. Thus, BELDJI has transformed from an assembly shop into a full-fledged and significant player in the automotive industry, successfully integrating global technologies into the local production ecosystem.
