The BAW BJ212 is a lightweight off-road vehicle. It has been in production since 1965, having been developed for the Chinese army. The design of the front panel, door cards, and steering wheel was completely revised, while maintaining the stylistic features of the previous model.

The changes in the exterior were no less significant. The updated off-roader was distinguished by rectangular door openings.
