I want to say a few words about Matador MP30 tires.
Maybe this will help make a choice for drivers thinking about buying these tires.
I'll start by saying that before Matador, I drove on studded tires for literally a couple of seasons, and all the rest of the time I used friction tires from Japanese manufacturers.
And in general, earlier, about 20 years ago, I had no idea about winter tire tests, their ratings, about "white-marked" tire manufacturers and their subsidiaries.
In a word, I didn't go into the details of the characteristics, and I didn't bother with the brand either. "Winter" - well, that's all.
I always used friction tires and was happy.
One day I bought Continental Ice Contact tires. I bought them, as they say, without knowing that these are premium segment tires with fantastic characteristics.
And this purchase turned my understanding of driving in winter upside down. I felt like a king on the road compared to friction tires.
Then in 2013, I changed my car and bought the cheapest imported winter tires at the time, Matador MP-30, for it. They were produced in Slovenia at the time.
And I can say the following: if you don't accelerate your car from zero to sixty with sparks flying, don't drive on the highway "as fast as the factory gave", don't turn corners at 180 km/h, then you'll never feel the difference compared to tires from more famous manufacturers.
Moreover, I bought myself a second set of these tires and have already worn them out. I've driven over 120,000 kilometers on Matador MP-30.
Daily use from November to April. Warm asphalt (up to +20 and trips of 2-3 thousand kilometers in such conditions), cold asphalt, wet asphalt, ice, ice crust, snow, slush - all no problem. The car drives and drives and drives in any conditions.
For the entire time, there hasn't been a single puncture, although the roads in our area are far from being like in the capital.
In a word, the tires have paid for every ruble invested and even more.
I bought the first set in one of the network stores in my city (Penza), the second in Mosavtoshina. The price at the time was around 2000 rubles per tire, now this is just a ridiculous amount.
In a word, the tires can be taken without a doubt.
But there is one nuance!
The second set was already produced in Russia.
In the first season, I lost about 300 studs from the wheels. Almost all, in a word. That's such "floating" quality of studding.
I took it to a tire shop, they installed repair studs, they took hold perfectly, and now they're already driving on our roads for the third winter.
I summarize: for their money, they are a quite decent option, you can safely buy and operate this tire model on our winter roads.
By the way, my tires were size 205/65-R15.

Overall, I'm pleased with the tire, having driven it for two winters now with no loss of studs. I drive carefully and follow all road rules, getting used to braking by engine power, anticipating many road situations and not relying on "hope it will make it." The tire is predictable, with some nuances, not liking uneven road surfaces, nor does it like being accelerated on ice, but I think this is mostly due to the Largsu's narrow road unevenness and the recommended tire pressure

Most ordinary budget tires. Price is a gift. Quality is plus three. Installed on a working car - I consider it the golden mean!!!

Standard winter tires, city and highway driving, light, relatively quiet, one problem - weak sidewalls compared to the original Gislaved Nf. After one season already 2 "blows," no such issues on Gislaved at 60,000 km.

The choice was quite simple. In the summer, I bought a Lada Vesta, which comes with Matador tires from the factory, so I also bought winter tires from the same brand. I don't see the point in overpaying for a brand for a car that belongs to the economy class by default. At a relatively low price, it's excellent tires in all respects. Not noisy. I have something to compare it to, since the car is not the only one and I have experience with various types of tires. If you don't "push your luck" in bad road conditions, trying to test its properties at the risk of the car and life, i.e., moving within reasonable limits, then there's no discomfort at all.

I used to ride on an old Michelin, but the tread and siping were still in good condition. Honestly, I didn't really notice any difference. It handled snow well, gripped ice without any issues, as long as I didn't oversteer. After two winters, I got stuck only once and that was because I got stuck in a rut. But I still managed to self-recover. In fact, this tire is essentially the same as the Goodyear Nordic Frost

Good day! The third tire of this company. I bought the first one back in 2012 (driven for 8 seasons, sold with the Megane). In 2024, I purchased this model for my wife's car, and in 2025 - for my son's. The price-quality ratio is acceptable. It handles snow well. It holds on ice (with adequate driving, according to weather conditions). There is noise, as with all tires in this price class. The wear resistance of the first tire was excellent, with these two - time will tell (so far the studs are in place, the tire is without complaints). I recommend for purchase.

These tires were on an Audi. For two seasons, the studs did not break or come off. They held the road well, and also did not get stuck in the snow. Except that once, by accident, I stopped across the rut, but in such a position, any tire would not save. I took them again because the tire has been tested, I remember it back when it was under the Gislaved brand. The price pleased me, compared to Torero, it's a couple of thousand cheaper. Although it's absolutely the same rubber, just a different name. In general, in my subjective opinion, the tire is worthy.
