I purchased a set of Runflat tires 245/50 R18 LS588 to replace Bridgestone Potenza S001, also Runflat
Among the advantages:
1. Excellent price
2. Very, very quiet
3. Ride quality. High treadwear, high protector
4. Proven model, proven brand
5. There is an extended warranty in Russia
6. Compared to Bridgestone Runflat - soft, elastic.
Among the disadvantages:
1. The first 500 km was really bad. The imbalance on one of the tires was up to 80 grams total. I balanced it twice, but it didn't help. In the end, I drove on the highway - everything passed, and it started driving smoothly
2. When braking aggressively (100-0) even on dry pavement, it starts squealing
3. Also, when driving through medium and sharp turns at 100 km/h, it squeals and loses traction. On wet pavement, these nuances appear even earlier and more strongly. But I make an allowance for the weight of the car - 2.5 tons. And for the Runflat layer on the sidewall
In general, I cannot agree that this is a UHP tire. But I am ready to recommend this tire as a touring tire for long distance driving. Do not expect drive, handling, or any victories in street racing from it. Its element is to drive quietly, softly with an adequate, average level of grip and safety
