Tyre reviews Avon Ice touring ST 150

Tires have proven themselves to be reliable and durable. Prices were reasonable last year, but we haven't seen any 50s and 60s this year. That's the only reason we haven't bought any yet. We live in the Caribbean Sea, and we have to consider shipping.

Acquired these tyres for my Trnsporter after the 2010/11 snow. While they are not as good as the Alpinas on my car, they were half the price. Good value, snow grip significantly improved over 'normal' tyres but not as good as the best winter tyres.

Zyre is the best in its class due to price, quality and performance. It may not have the best performance as Michelin or Bridgestone, but overall the price and quality make up for it.

I had Dunlops prior and they were the worst tires I have ever bought unfortunately it was on the car I bought them for, the traction lets go on a slightly wet road surface, tire replacement budget tires are a whole lot better than those Dunlops.

I bought these and put them on my spare set of tires from Ebay. I used them from November to March on everything, from heavy snow to frozen roads on highways. They were fantastic in all respects, allowing me to reach places others gave up on and giving me confidence. I will be repeating the process this year, can't recommend them enough.

The ratings above compared to a summer tire on the same car allowed me to venture out in the snow, which otherwise would have been impossible. Emergency braking on wet/snow was also tested - they showed good results. They were much quieter than summer tires and more economical. The tread depth was up to 7.5 mm on the front and 8 mm on the rear after that mileage (I don't know the tread depth on the new one), and I'm expecting them to last another

Delightful traction on snow! Managed to get my cool disc, where my neighbors had to park on the road. Very good on wet road too. I'm still using them currently (end of March) and the wear rate is very good. Will change them to summer ones though, as I suppose they will wear out quickly in hot weather.

Paid 70 and simply put summer tires on. After such a winter brilliant in snow and absolutely normal at all other temperatures and conditions. Will be insufficient maneuverability if persistent in dry.

Quite good tire; reduced for decreasing traction on packed snow/ice and slight vibration through steering at high speeds. A light weight of this gasoline model won't help geniuses.

They did a great job in the car with 200hp and much easier to handle in critical situations.
