Maxxis Tire Retreading Plant

The Chinese company Maxxis International has officially opened a tire retreading plant in Malaysia. It was built in conjunction with the local firm Kian Hon Tyes.
The new facility is located in Nibong Tebal. It is planned that this plant will become the largest tire retreading complex not only in Malaysia but also in the entire Southeast Asian region.
A total of around five million euros has been invested in the plant, which occupies an area of almost four thousand square meters. It is expected to pay for itself very quickly: as early as next year, its revenue should be ten times the amount invested - 50 million euros.
If the development of the enterprise follows the planned schedule, the Malaysian company may invest an additional 30% of the initial investment amount in this project. This was stated by the company's representative Tan Yang Nam. However, Kian Hon Tyes is waiting: much will depend on the outcome of the elections and whether the instability of the Malaysian economy will persist.
As for the capacity of the new facility, 120,000 tires will be retreaded annually, and 150,000 tread bands will be produced monthly.
As noted by the president of Maxxis, the new plant will give another boost to the development of "green" technologies.
