Vee Rubber recalls 144 off-road tires

Vee Rubber is recalling a batch of 144 Taiga A/T off-road tires with a size of LT235/85R16, produced at the plant in the Thai province of Samut Sakhon from January 1 to December 31, 2024, in the USA. According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall is due to the fact that cracks may occur in the tires and delamination of the airtight layer and the lower part of the sidewall, which creates a risk of pressure loss.

The recall was initiated after the NHTSA informed Vee Rubber that the tires did not pass a laboratory strength test. An investigation was conducted, which led the company to conclude that contamination of individual frame components occurred during the tire assembly stage. The manufacturer notes that in such cases, the most common foreign substance is moisture from the environment.
