In Russia, counterfeit tires have appeared

Counterfeit Chinese-made tires have appeared on the Russian market, with isolated cases reported so far that could become a trend, according to Quto, citing tire expert Anastasia Tishina.

As an example, a set of tires with a size of 275/35ZR22 is mentioned, marked as Michelin Pilot Sport 4, but with a different tread pattern and marking, while the production date was "beaten out", and the country of origin designation - Made in France - is executed in an unusually large size. In addition, the set is offered for 100,000 rubles, which is currently a very low price for tires of this brand and size.

According to Tishina, counterfeits are "found mainly in the segment of low-profile sizes with a large landing diameter, that is, among openly expensive tires", since it makes sense to counterfeit only premium-class tires with a diameter of more than 18 inches. This means that buyers of tires in this category should be especially careful.
