Continental announced that it is initiating a recall program for 833 passenger tires that were imported and sold on the Australian market between November 2023 and August 2024. The recall affects Continental ProContact GX AO tires in size 255/35 R19, manufactured at the plant in Korbach, Germany (the AO designation indicates that the tires were homologated by Audi).

According to reports, after Continental recorded an increase in warranty claims related to ProContact GX tires, an investigation was conducted, which revealed that these tires may experience delamination of the belt edge, creating a risk of belt and tread separation during prolonged use.

All tires will be replaced free of charge, and the company emphasizes that it has no data on any accidents or injuries caused by the defect in the recalled tires.

Continental ProContact GX tires are all-season tires of the "touring" class, suitable for installation on passenger cars and crossovers.
