TOP tires for crossovers

The crossover has long been considered the most desirable type of vehicle among our compatriots. At the same time, the main advantages include spaciousness, not passability. That's why a significant part of the cars in this class never leave the city limits. Today we will discuss the main tires for the city, based on the results of a test by the Polish edition of MOTOR, which tested 9 popular models in the size 215/60 R17.

Traditionally, let's consider the main results in braking:

Braking on dry pavement from 100 km/h

Braking on wet pavement from 100 km/h

Braking results:

This is a very clear indicator, as it completely depends on the accurate measurement by independent equipment. Pay attention to the braking distance when braking from 100 km/h. On an ideal dry road, the best result is 36.5 meters, and on a wet surface – 53.6! This is a very large distance if we talk about the need for emergency braking, so be careful and do not exceed the speed on unpaved sections. The car physically cannot stop in less than 30-50 meters.

Of course, it's worth noting the already not-so-young Continental PremiumContact 6 separately. The best in braking on dry and the best in braking on wet! This is an indicator of an ideal balance. The second in terms of balance can be confidently highlighted by Michelin Primacy 4. Well, in the top three in terms of effective braking, Bridgestone Turanza T005 also stood out, which is not in its first test, showing that Bridgestone can still make excellent tires.

Noise level at 50 km/h

We have already written about the fact that tire noise is only a part of the total noise that you hear. At the same time, it should be noted that the difference in noise between the quietest and loudest tire in the test does not exceed 2.5 dB, which may not be noticeable at all. Here, of course, the quality of the car's sound insulation plays a huge role.
