The new Pirelli calendar is presented

The 51st Pirelli calendar was presented at the London Natural History Museum, created by photographer Ethan James Green and titled Refresh and Reveal (which can be translated as "refresh and reveal").

The new calendar, as Green promised, has returned to its roots, and its pages feature actors and actresses, as well as models of different ages and nationalities. The shooting took place from May to June 2024 on the beaches of the historic Virginia Key Beach park in Miami.

The 24 photographs feature 12 people: American actress, model, and activist Hunter Schafer, Indian-American TV host and writer Padma Lakshmi, French actor Vincent Cassel, Italian singer, actress, and model Elodie, British actress Simone Ashley, South Korean actress HoYeon, British actress Jodie Turner-Smith, American artist Martin Gutierrez, American model Connie Fleming, British actor John Boyega, American model Jenny Shimizu, as well as the photographer himself.

As Green recalled, his inspiration during the work was the previous Pirelli calendars. "I was most impressed by the shots of Richard Avedon and Herb Ritts from the 1990s, which created truly timeless, beautiful images," he noted. "That's exactly what I wanted to achieve. Create something that won't look outdated in 20 or 30 years."

According to him, "our general idea of the calendar has changed significantly compared to the past." "I found it interesting to explore modern beauty and show it in the context of the Pirelli calendar, which has always celebrated it," Green stated. "We called the concept Refresh and Reveal because we are returning to the origins of the calendar and celebrating body beauty in a new way, reflecting the present day."

In line with current trends, diversity was an important factor in the selection of models. "Casting has always been an important part of my work, and I've been lucky enough to work with many of those who appeared in the calendar in various projects throughout my career," the photographer said. "Some I worked with for the first time, but everyone supported the concept, trusted our team, and allowed us to make stunning shots."
