Why are some tires packaged

Probably you have encountered cases when tires are sold in bright packaging. Shiny tape of various colors literally completely wraps around the tire. At the same time, the tire can only be identified by the label, since the tread is not visible at all. A logical question arises - why?

If there is any sense in this, then why don't all tires use this packaging method? Against the background of the lack of information, rumors even arise that this is done specifically to hide defects and the unattractive appearance of the tires. These rumors are often reinforced by the fact that most of the tires in similar packaging are made in China.

We dare to assure you that this has nothing to do with the quality of the tires.

It is also mistaken to believe that this is the prerogative of budget brands. Premium brands also apply this packaging method. But not everywhere! This is where part of the reasons for using bright film lie.

First and foremost, this is done for export to hot countries. Since production often cannot know where the tires will be shipped, packaging is often done for all produced tires. As you know from our tire storage recommendations, direct sunlight is detrimental to stored tires. With prolonged exposure, this leads to accelerated aging of the surface rubber and premature tire failure. The use of special light-reflecting film reduces the risk of tire damage during transportation or storage in conditions of extreme heat and bright sunlight. As an additional bonus, this reduces friction between tires, and as a result, fewer deformations during transportation.

The conclusion is simple - there is no need to worry about the additional measures that the manufacturer applies. They are designed to preserve all consumer properties of the tires. At the same time, it is worth remembering the rules for storing tires during seasonal storage. Follow these simple rules and, thereby, extend the service life of your tires.
