Pirelli has re-released tires for the Ferrari GTO

Pirelli has expanded its range of tires for Ferrari supercars by introducing the new Cinturato P7 model, specifically designed for the legendary Ferrari GTO. The novelty debuted in October during the GTO Legacy Tour 2024, and in the line of tires created to order for the Italian manufacturer, it joins the recently introduced P Zero for Ferrari Enzo, as well as tires for other supercars: F40, F50, LaFerrari, and LaFerrari Aperta.

This year, the Ferrari GTO celebrates its 40th anniversary, in honor of which a rally was organized for its owners, who drove from the picturesque Dolomite Alps to the Ferrari headquarters in Maranello, Italy. The Cinturato P7 presented during the tour was added to the Collezione line, which includes tires for the most famous classic cars, combining a vintage look with modern technologies. Initially, the Cinturato P7 debuted in the 1974 World Rally Championship, and in 1976, it was introduced as a road tire, becoming the first low-profile model that improved handling in corners due to the reduced sidewall height relative to the tread width. In 2024, the tire was re-released in the original sizes for the GTO: 225/50 R16 and 265/50 R16 for the front and rear axles, respectively.

In 1987, the collaboration between Pirelli and Ferrari continued when the F40 was released, the first production car to originally include tires from the famous P Zero family. For the F40, tires with a rim diameter of 17 inches were created, which no one had previously installed on road cars. Thanks to this, as well as Pirelli's technologies, the new Ferrari was able to accelerate to speeds over 300 km/h, and now the Collezione line includes tires for the F40 in sizes 245/40 R17 and 335/35 R17.

For the F40's successor, the Ferrari F50, which premiered at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show, exclusive Pirelli P Zero Corsa System tires were developed in sizes 245/35 R18 for the front and 335/30 R18 for the rear axle. In the early 2000s, the tires were released on the market as Pirelli's most sporty road model, whose special design improved stability at high speeds and allowed it to be used, among other things, on a racing track.

Very recently, Pirelli released P Zero Corsa System tires in sizes 245/35 R19 and 345/35 R19 for the Ferrari Enzo, which were developed with the participation of the automaker's test pilots and are made from a new rubber compound that increases the level of safety.

Pirelli has also been the tire supplier for new Ferrari models, such as the 2013 LaFerrari and the 2016 LaFerrari Aperta, for which the Pirelli P Zero Corsa Asimmetrico 2 tires were homologated. As noted by Pirelli, the P Zero brand has become a benchmark for quality in the segment of tires for the most extreme and prestigious cars, and this is due in part to the fact that the company creates technologies for its road tires in the Formula 1 championship, which it uses as a "laboratory under the open sky".
