Pirelli names its best suppliers of 2024

Pirelli hosted another awards ceremony for its top suppliers at its Milan headquarters. This time, 80 "strategic suppliers" from 22 countries, which account for 40% of Pirelli's annual purchases, were in the running for the award, and seven of them received the prize from the hands of Luca Galanti, who oversees supply chains at the tire manufacturer.

The event was also attended by Marco Tronchetti Provera, Pirelli's Executive Vice Chairman, who noted: "Collaboration with partners who share our values is crucial for maintaining Pirelli's leadership in the high-end tire market".

"Achieving our ambitious goals is impossible without teamwork, especially when it comes to technological innovations and sustainability goals. That's why we are delighted to recognize our suppliers who have excelled every year," he added.

The following companies received the Pirelli Supplier Awards 2024.

Pibro Trasporti (award for achievements in sustainability). A logistics services provider that has started using electric and biomethane-powered trucks.

VMI Holland BV (for innovation). A supplier of equipment for the tire industry.

Asahi Kasei Corporation (for innovative material development). A manufacturer of synthetic rubber that, together with Pirelli, creates new materials for tire production.

Shandong Yangcu Huatai Chemical Co. (for quality). A supplier of chemicals used in tire rubber compounds.

Shanghai Inoac Polymer Products Co. (for service level). A supplier of polyurethane foam.

Salesforce.com (for contribution to digital transformation). A supplier of innovative CRM solutions.

Jiangsu Xingda Steel Tire Cord Group Corp. (for achievements). A supplier of steel cord.

The ceremony was also attended by Mario Isola, Pirelli's Motorsport Director, who noted that the company is one of the leading tire brands in motorsports, starting with Formula 1, where "teamwork is also a recipe for success". This year, Pirelli introduced a new innovation for F1, namely tires with natural rubber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
