New eco-tires from Yokohama

26 december 2012
The Japanese company Yokohama has announced the release of new "green" tires EOS ES31, which, according to the manufacturers' assurances, should take another step towards achieving the ideal of environmentally friendly tires. The novelty is designed to significantly reduce fuel consumption. This tire has become a continuation of the DNA ECOS ES300, which had great success on the market.

After this success, the task of further improving the model's performance was set before the specialists of the Japanese corporation. The most advanced technologies, such as BluEarth, which formed the basis of the eponymous tire line, were supposed to achieve this.

In addition, during the development of the tire, a technology was used for the first time, which allowed controlling the interaction of components in the rubber mixture of the tread at the nano level. As a result, compared to the predecessor tire, the new model has reduced rolling resistance by 11.5%, as well as increased braking on dry and wet roads. Plus, according to the engineers' assurances, they managed to reduce the level of noise generated during driving, which increased the comfort of movement.

The Yokohama EOS ES31 tire will be available from March in thirty sizes, from 155/80R13 to 225/45R18.
