Nokian increases sales volumes

According to the results of the first half of 2025, sales of Nokian Tyres amounted to 613.2 million euros, an increase of 9.3% compared to the same period in 2024. Operating profit grew by 56.5% to 7.8 million euros, and the company notes that the improvement in performance is due to an increase in sales of tires for passenger cars, price increases in the first quarter, and a reduction in production costs. Additionally, the expansion of capacity at plants in the USA and Romania has had a positive impact.

According to Paolo Pompei, President and CEO of Nokian, in the second quarter, the company's growth in passenger tire sales was above the market average, and the company was able to strengthen its position in all regions of presence.

"The capacity expansion in Romania is on schedule, and in the first quarter, the plant began shipping new Nokian Tyres Seasonproof 2 tires with excellent characteristics and belonging to the all-season tire segment," Pompei said, adding that "despite the fact that geopolitical tensions and changes in import tariffs continue to create short-term uncertainties, we remain focused on the factors that we can control. In 2025, our goal is to improve revenue and operating profitability compared to the previous year".

In 2025, Nokian completed a three-year investment cycle, during which the company invested approximately 800 million euros in expanding production capacity. "Although these investments temporarily affected our profitability and cash flow, they played a crucial role in ensuring our long-term success," Pompei noted.

Nokian expects that in 2025, demand for the company's products will remain at the same level, but changes in the global economy and geopolitics may lead to some instability.
