Nexen has become a partner of Sydney FC

Nexen Tire has signed a strategic marketing partnership agreement with Sydney FC, the most successful football club in Australia, to enhance its brand recognition in the local market, the company's press service reports.

Sydney FC, founded in 2004, is the leading club in the Australian A-League, having won the most trophies. The men's team has won the A-League five times, making it the most successful in Australian football history, while the women's team has won three times and is currently the reigning champion. Not long ago, the Lord Mayor of Sydney presented the women's team with the key to the city.

As noted by Nexen, Australia is a strategically important market for the company, including due to the high level of car ownership among the population. In 2022, Nexen established a subsidiary in the country, which allowed for more effective servicing of the local market, and the company says it continues to increase sales in the region.

Through its sponsorship of the football club, Nexen aims to increase the value of its brand in the Australian market, for which it plans to use digital platforms, newsletters, and targeted advertising. The company's logos will also appear at the club's stadium during home matches.

Nexen adds that "the partnership with Sydney FC is an important part of the strategy to strengthen its position in the Australian market, which is aimed, among other things, at meeting the demand for large-size tires for pickups and SUVs).

Nexen is actively engaged in sports marketing and collaborates with football clubs "Manchester City" in the UK and "Bayern" in Germany, as well as with the baseball team "San Diego Padres" in the USA. It is reported that such initiatives have helped Nexen increase sales to a record 2.7 trillion won (1.9 billion dollars) in 2023.

"We consider cooperation with Sydney FC as an important stage in expanding Nexen Tire's presence in the Australian market," said Travis Kang, CEO of the company, adding that in the future, the Korean manufacturer will continue to increase brand recognition through various marketing projects around the world.
