Nexen Tire has become the supplier of tires for the updated Kia Seltos crossover on the Korean market, which during the change of generations has increased in size and is now offered with both gasoline and hybrid powertrains. With the expansion of the number of trim levels, 19-inch tires have been added to the available 16 and 18-inch tires, and Nexen supplies tires for wheels of all sizes, which, according to the company, are optimized for both crossovers and hybrids.

In 16 and 18-inch sizes, the Seltos is equipped with Nexen N'Priz S all-season tires, designed for use on vehicles with all types of powertrains and featuring a tread pattern designed to reduce noise and improve ride comfort. In addition, compared to the previous generation tires, the properties on snow have been improved, making the N'Priz S suitable for use all year round in the Korean climate.

For 19-inch wheels, whose appearance in the Seltos trim levels reflects, according to Nexen, the growing demand for large-sized wheels, Nexen N'Fera AU7 tires are mounted, designed for efficient operation at high speeds and, again, improving ride comfort. The reinforced construction combined with the optimized tread pattern is designed to provide stable handling, while the NRS (Noise Reduction System) helps to increase the level of acoustic comfort - according to the results of the manufacturer's internal tests, the noise in the cabin can be reduced by 10% compared to tires without NRS.

Nexen notes that thanks to the new agreement, they are strengthening their position in the segment of large-diameter tires and are now also equipping such crossovers and pickups as KGM Musso, Hyundai Palisade and Elexio, Kia EV5 and Tasman, Skoda Karoq, etc.

"As demand for crossovers continues to grow worldwide, we are increasingly equipping vehicles with tires with a larger rim diameter," said John Bosco (Hyun Sok) Kim, CEO of Nexen. "In the future, we will continue to expand our partnership with global automakers and increase the supply of large-sized tires, relying on proven technologies and product competitiveness."
