Are motorcycle tires in winter really possible?

Is it possible to operate a motorcycle in winter? A more accurate answer to this question can be given if we know the details, namely what kind of winter is meant. Some motorcyclists simply are not ready to ride a motorcycle in the winter period because it is not a comfortable ride in a heated car salon, but a harsh winter weather, where you can only warm up with clothes, which is already very impractical. In addition, the motorcycle itself is not designed for all-weather use. All kinds of plastic elements or seals, and, of course, oil in the shock absorbers are simply not designed for operation in winter conditions and if they do not fail immediately, they will significantly reduce their resource.

But if we put aside all conventions and answer from the point of view of the very possibility of operation and the existence of winter tires, then such a possibility exists. There are tires that have winter markings 3PMSF. For example, the Turkish brand Anlas produces the Winter Grip Plus tire. This model really has an adapted rubber compound that quickly reaches its working range. In addition, a large number of lamellas provides excellent grip on a wet road, effectively draining water and moisture from the contact patch. But it should be noted that winter is a relative concept and everyone understands it differently. If the tire is adapted for a winter road, it does not mean that it is completely safe. Any change in weather or ice formation will inevitably lead to skidding and a very likely fall. Many experienced motorcyclists adapt their iron horse, getting a third point of support in the form of a side trailer, but in this case, urban maneuverability is lost and all meaning is lost. In pursuit of adapting a motorcycle to winter conditions, one should ask the question - is there any point in this, especially in the conditions of our winter.
