Michelin releases a truck tire with a lifespan of one million miles

Michelin introduced to the North American market new tires Michelin X Line Grip D for the driving axle, which, as the company says, represents a "revolutionary breakthrough" in its segment and, thanks to a high-strength carcass, can withstand up to 1 million miles (1.6 million km) with four tread renewals. 

Tires are designed for regional and long-haul transportation and are distinguished not only by their high resource, but also by their ability to maintain optimal efficiency for a long time. The manufacturer's internal tests showed that in a worn-out state (with a residual tread depth of 7.9 mm), the traction of the new tires on snow and wet asphalt is 90 and 25% higher, respectively, than that of the Michelin XDN2.

The reduction in fleet costs is also ensured by the reduced rolling resistance (-20% compared to Michelin XDN2), and the tire's ability to save fuel is confirmed by certification under the SmartWay program of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In addition, the directional tread pattern improves performance on wet and snowy roads, and the tires have received the 3PMSF marking for winter conditions, and the tread life has been increased by 20% compared to Michelin XDN2.

Michelin X Line Grip D will be available in sizes 295/75R22.5 and 11R22.5.
