Goodyear closes US mold plant
The Goodyear company has decided to close its mold production plant in Findlay (Ohio, USA) by the end of March 2026. Production will be consolidated, and in the future, the American division of the company will manufacture molds for tire production only at the Statesville (North Carolina) plant.
Goodyear does not specify the reason for the decision to close the enterprise, noting only that it was "difficult", and assuring that the company will provide comprehensive support to all 85 employees who have lost their jobs.
According to Goodyear representative Douglas Dusty, the tire manufacturer has no opportunity to transfer workers to other positions, and they will be provided with severance pay and job placement assistance.
The Findlay plant became Goodyear's property in 2021, when Cooper Tire was acquired.
