Goodyear has manufactured special tires for the Citroen Elo concept car, which is a 6-seat family minivan for active leisure, designed to become an "idea laboratory" for the automotive brand and allow it to "explore new territories".

As part of the new project, Goodyear aimed to "take the interaction between the car and tires to a new level in terms of design", so a concept tire with a sidewall in orange, which became the main color for the entire minivan, was created for Elo. In addition, the SightLine technology was used, which allows receiving data on the condition of the tires through the dashboard or a special application.

The innovation was that the system reports the tire pressure using an LED panel located directly on the wheel disc - if the level is incorrect, its color changes to red. Due to the use of the correct pressure, the lifespan of the tires increases, as well as the stability in complex conditions, according to Goodyear.

The design of the concept tires, called Eagle Xplore, was inspired by the design of models from the Wrangler off-road line, and the company notes that "a premium appearance was combined with exceptional strength", and the tires are able to provide reliable traction, making them perfectly suitable for the character of Elo.

"The Goodyear Eagle Xplore tire is a combination of innovation and style," said Ben Glesenner, Director of Tire Development at Goodyear for the consumer sector in the EMEA region. "By combining original design, intelligent innovation, and constant connection with the driver, Goodyear is creating a new approach to future mobility, offering individual solutions that make every trip an unforgettable adventure".

Goodyear has already become a regular partner of Citroen in the development of concept cars, and in 2020, the Citroen 19_19, released for the brand's 100th anniversary, was equipped with Goodyear Eagle 360 tires with an adaptive tread, and in 2022, Goodyear Eagle Go tires, almost entirely made of eco-materials, were manufactured for the Citroen oli. In addition, not so long ago, "smart" Goodyear tires were installed on the Polygon concept from Peugeot, which is also part of Stellantis.
