Goodyear recalls tires without production date
Goodyear is recalling 170 off-road tires Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT in size LT275/65R18, produced during the fifth week of 2025 at the plant in Texarkana (Arkansas, USA). The reason was that the marking lacks a 4-digit production date, as a result of which the tires do not meet the American Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) notes that the inability to determine the release date of the tires can lead to their too long operation, as well as the fact that the tires cannot be identified in case of a recall related to a manufacturing defect. In both cases, the risk of an accident increases.
The fact that the tires do not have a production date was reported by one of the dealers, after which a check was carried out and the recall procedure was started.
Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT is designed for use in any conditions, including snow, and was presented in the summer of 2024.
