Goodyear recalls defective summer tires

Goodyear is initiating a recall procedure in Europe for summer passenger car tires Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 in size 225/45 R17, manufactured during the first week of 2025 at the plant in Hanau (Germany), as an incorrect production process was used, resulting in the tires not meeting the requirements of Directive RE 30 UNECE. This is reported by Gummebereifung, citing the words of a company representative.

It is noted that the production defect can lead to deformation or delamination of the tread at high speeds, resulting in a risk of loss of control over the vehicle. Goodyear emphasizes that there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the defective tires.

According to the company representative, quality issues only affect four tires, and the recall has been announced in 21 European countries, including Germany.
