Finessa is a new tire brand from Bridgestone

Bridgestone launches a new brand, Finessa, on the Japanese market, whose name is created by combining the words Fine and Safety, and is intended to convey that the products will provide a high level of both comfort and safety.

In Japan, the company uses a range of trademarks, and for the premium segment, Potenza and Regno are intended, under which tires with sports characteristics and increased comfort are released, while Ecopia is economical tires, and the Newno brand is closer to the budget class. The new brand will be positioned in the middle segment and is intended for a wide range of consumers.

As the company says, Japanese people use cars both in everyday life and during family trips and leisure, which increases the demand for tires with balanced characteristics that combine increased comfort with necessary safety. "In addition, more and more buyers choose tires not only based on their characteristics and price but also on their personal values," note in Bridgestone, adding that they intend to make the new brand, which meets these needs, "part of the life of a wide group of motorists".

The first tire in the new brand line will be the Finessa HB01, which has an asymmetric tread pattern with expanding shoulder grooves that accelerate water drainage from the main channels, whose walls are located at a right angle, which maintains high liquid drainage efficiency as it wears out. Compared to Bridgestone Ecopia NH200 tires, braking properties on a wet road have been improved by 15%, and after 20,000 km of mileage, the braking efficiency is 12% higher.

At the junction of the shoulder and main grooves, there are special protrusions that reduce noise, and in Bridgestone, they indicate that the noise in the cabin when moving on a smooth surface has been reduced by 7% compared to NH200. In terms of durability and economy, the two models are comparable, but the production of HB01 uses an increased proportion of "green" materials. The tire is also made using Enliten technology, which allows increasing the environmental friendliness of tires, for example, by reducing weight.

The Finessa HB01 will be released on the Japanese market on February 1, 2026, in 55 sizes from 155/65 R14 to 245/45 R19.
