ETRMA has been transformed into Tyres Europe

The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association (ETRMA) has undergone a reorganization and changed its name to Tyres Europe, indicating that the organization will focus on promoting the development and competitiveness of the European tire industry.

The President of Tyres Europe was elected as the Senior Vice President of Pirelli, Livio Magni, who noted that "we will continue to closely cooperate with politicians and key stakeholders to create a predictable business environment that allows manufacturers to invest, innovate, and be competitive in the European market".

"As an industry, we are still striving to develop innovations that produce products with a high level of safety and environmental friendliness," he added.

The Vice President of the renewed organization became the CEO of Nokian Tyres, Paolo Pompei. "Our industry sector consistently invests in expanding production capacity, increasing productivity, as well as in developments and research to promote the creation of efficient European mobility of the future," said the head of Nokian. "Tyres Europe aims to promote policies that allow manufacturers to bring greater benefits to society and receive recognition for their work".

According to Adam McCarthy, Secretary General of Tyres Europe, tires are as important as batteries or semiconductors, and companies face numerous challenges affecting multiple industries. "We will continue to cooperate with EU institutions to develop effective regulations that can provide the industry with real results in terms of competitiveness, sustainability, and innovation," he emphasized.

The official presentation of the new organization will take place on November 18 in Brussels, where high-ranking representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament will speak with reports.

Members of Tyres Europe include companies such as Apollo Tyres, Bridgestone, Brisa, Continental, Goodyear, Hankook, Marangoni, Michelin, Nokian, Pirelli, Prometeon, Sumitomo, Toyo, and Yokohama, as well as tire associations from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the UK, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Poland.
