ENSO, a London-based startup that develops tires for electric vehicles, has signed a partnership agreement with i247 Group, a provider of fleet management solutions, to increase the availability of its tires among electric vehicle owners across the UK.

Thanks to the new partnership, ENSO tires will be available in over 4,000 service centers in England, Wales, and Scotland, including major networks such as Halfords. Mobile tire fitting will also be used to reduce vehicle downtime, and ENSO notes that the partnership with i247 will be a significant milestone in the company's history, which was created to serve the growing electric vehicle market with specialized tires.

ENSO EV tires were designed specifically for electric cars, including delivery vans, and the company notes that switching to ENSO tires can increase the range of electric vehicles by 10%, and they also have increased efficiency and safety compared to standard tires available on the secondary market. By reducing energy costs and increasing tire life, they help electric car owners save money, and independent testing by Transport for London during tire trials showed that air pollution from particulate matter can be reduced by 35%.

"Choosing the right tires can provide significant cost savings per mile," said Gunnlaugur Erlendsson, CEO of ENSO. "Our approach ensures that fleets have access to tires that last longer than usual, increase the range of electric vehicles, and reduce air pollution, reducing costs and damage to the environment. The partnership with i247 Group will fill the gap in the market for high-performance electric vehicle tires and help both drivers and fleet operators adapt to the transition to electric transport."

Sam Mason, Managing Director of i247 Group, added that "the partnership with ENSO will provide British drivers and fleets with access to innovative technologies that improve efficiency and safety while also reducing operating costs."

ENSO recently signed a partnership agreement with Uber, which will give thousands of drivers in the UK and US access to discounts on ENSO tires, which is expected to help them earn more per mile and accelerate the service's transition to electric vehicles.

ENSO also plans to build a new $500 million carbon-neutral tire factory in the US. The plant is expected to open in 2027 and will be able to produce over 5 million tires per year in the first phase, with a staff of over 600 people.
