Doublestar launches a plant in Cambodia
Qingdao Doublestar has begun pilot production of tires at its new plant in Kratie Province, Cambodia, reports ERJ. It is noted that the enterprise will be launched in the second half of 2024, and products will be supplied to such markets as Europe and the USA.
The Chinese manufacturer announced plans to build a tire plant in Cambodia in partnership with the local company Ube Development Co. in February 2023. At that time, it was reported that the company would invest 1.4 billion yuan (190 million dollars) in the enterprise, and its capacity would be around 7 million passenger and 1.5 million truck tires per year.
The share of Doublestar in the joint venture is 80%. The company produces tires under such brands as Aosen, Doublestar, Crossleader, Headway and Horizon.
