For the Porsche Macan Electric and Panamera, Bridgestone tires have been chosen
Porsche has chosen Bridgestone to develop exclusive tires for the new Macan Electric and Panamera. Both models come equipped with custom-made summer tires, Bridgestone Potenza Sport, in the Ultra-High Performance class. The sports luxury sedan Panamera will also have Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 winter tires available, marking the first time the Japanese corporation has supplied Porsche with cold-weather tires.
The tires for the Macan feature a tread pattern and rubber compound designed to improve the vehicle's dynamic performance, adapted to the increased mass and torque of the electric crossover. According to Bridgestone, the tires not only guarantee improved handling on dry and wet asphalt, including at high speeds, but also reduce braking distances, increase comfort, and have lower rolling resistance, helping to ensure a range of up to 600 km without recharging.
The new generation Enliten technology platform was used in the creation of the tires, allowing for the improvement of various operational characteristics while also making them more environmentally friendly. The tires for the Macan are produced in Europe and are available in six sizes with diameters of 20, 21, and 22 inches.
For the Panamera, 21-inch Potenza Sport tires were prepared, which were also refined to improve handling and comfort, as well as increase energy efficiency, while the Blizzak LM005 (20 inches in diameter) have a tread pattern designed to provide a high level of safety in any warm winter conditions. All tires are also manufactured in Europe.
During the development of the tires for Porsche, the Virtual Tyre Development technology was applied, which allows for a 60% reduction in raw material consumption during the design of new tires, as fewer prototypes are produced, and also reduces carbon dioxide emissions. Bridgestone notes that VTD was key to meeting the automaker's requirements and, in particular, helped improve the braking efficiency of the tires on dry pavement and their interaction with the vehicles' braking systems.

"We are supplying tires for the Panamera for the first time, and Bridgestone tires have also been approved for the first time for a Porsche electric car, the Macan. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate our ability to create premium tires that help Porsche customers get the most out of two incredible and very different vehicles."
