What is "Track Connect"
It's no surprise that cars are getting smarter every day. However, when a tire becomes smarter, that's a different story altogether. Yes, times are coming when a tire can give advice to a driver on optimal handling.
The technology of "smart" sensors originated in large tires. At the same time, it's hard to call them sensors, rather they were entire systems that monitored the condition of the tire. After all, improper use can lead to damage, and damage, in turn, to equipment downtime and significant losses.
That's why giant companies started offering systems that can prevent these risks. The most interesting thing starts now, when similar technologies come to the segment of passenger tires. A great example is the "Track Connect" system from "Michelin".
The system consists of four sensors and a receiver that receives the signal and sends it to a smartphone via a special app. The whole essence of this system is that the program analyzes the driving style, the tire heating process, and even the features of the track, and gives recommendations on pressure and handling for the best disclosure of all the basic characteristics of the tire that the manufacturer has laid down. A feature of such analysis is that the system has all the racing tracks in the world with their characteristics and types of coverage.
A question arises: sports tires sometimes live no more than one day, isn't it too expensive to have such a pleasure? This moment has also been thought out. The sensors are reusable. If your tires have the "Track Connect" marking, it just means that there is a special socket for installing the sensor on the inner cavity of the tire. The system itself needs to be purchased separately.
Such systems are presented only in the segments of tires for business in the passenger "sports" segment, but development is going so rapidly that soon we will be able to see similar analysis systems in the civilian segment of tires.
