Bridgestone has developed new tires for crane trucks
Bridgestone has introduced to the US market a new tire, the Bridgestone V-Steel Highway Service 3 (VHS3), specifically designed for mobile cranes, including all-terrain cranes, and optimized to provide the necessary stability for lifting heavy loads, as well as for traveling on paved surfaces and off-road.
The new tires have been approved by the US Department of Transportation (DOT) and meet the department's safety standards, which means they can be used on public roads. Compared to the previous generation model, the Bridgestone VHS2, a number of key parameters have been improved. In particular, thanks to a new rubber compound and an improved sidewall design, heat generation has been reduced and uneven wear has been minimized, and the tire's lifespan has increased by 12%. Additionally, the tread pattern with wide grooves and enlarged blocks is designed to improve traction, stability, and wear resistance, and the lightweight design reduces fuel consumption while maintaining payload capacity.

According to Rob Seibert, President of Bridgestone's US OTR tire division, "mobile cranes probably handle the most complex and critical tasks of any heavy equipment". "Crane operators lift and transport heavy loads across job sites and move on various types of surfaces, so reliable and durable tires are essential for any large-scale project," he added.
The Bridgestone VHS3 tires are available in size 445/95 R25.
