BKT has built a new mold manufacturing plant
BKT has announced the completion of a new mold manufacturing plant at its production complex in Bhuj (Gujarat, India). As planned, the investment volume was around 3 billion rupees (36 million dollars).
Last October, BKT's managing director Rajiv Poddar stated that instead of expanding the existing mold production in Dombivli (Maharashtra), a new plant would be built. The new enterprise was planned to be launched in the summer of 2024, and the funds allocated for its construction accounted for one-third of BKT's investments for the fiscal year.
According to Poddar, the decision to build a new plant is due to the fact that as of 2023, 60% of BKT's products were produced in Bhuj. Additionally, the creation of a new production facility means that in the future, the company will increase its capacity in Bhuj.
The tire plant in Gujarat was opened in 2012, and in 2020, the production of carbon black was launched at the enterprise. BKT specializes in the production of tires for various specialized equipment.
