Bandag Closes European Retread Plant

Retreading operations at Bandag's plant in Lanklaar, Belgium, will cease in the coming months. In a released statement, Bandag Europe NV announced its intention to close the tire retreading plant, likely in the first half of 2025.

The company emphasizes that it has "no other choice but to take structural measures" in response to the "significant decline" of the European retreading market over the past ten years, which has led to overcapacity and uncompetitive production costs.
