Description Zelda Archforce EV
The area of application of the summer tyre Zelda Archforce EV is passenger cars with electric and hybrid powertrains. For this reason, the manufacturer has focused on reducing rolling resistance, noise levels, and vibrations, as well as improving the stability of traction properties during sharp longitudinal accelerations and manoeuvring.
Asymmetric tread pattern for precise handling
The tread is designed in an asymmetric pattern, featuring a combination of massive longitudinal ribs in the central part and blocks in the shoulder areas. The largest number of working edges is located on its inner side, accelerating water evacuation from under the tyre. The outer side of the tread, as well as the shoulder areas, have maximum stiffness, increasing traction stability and handling precision during manoeuvring.
Compound for electric vehicles
A significant part of the tyre's adaptation to use in electric and hybrid vehicles fell on the rubber compound of the tread. The basis of its composition is SSBR polymer and finely dispersed silica powder. This combination provides the compound with elasticity, tear resistance, and stretch resistance over a wide temperature range, allowing it to be both grippy on wet surfaces and resistant to abrasive wear, crack formation, as well as reducing rolling resistance.
Comfort in everyday use
Modern electric vehicles are characterized by a low noise level from the powertrain, so acoustic comfort largely depends on the tyres. In this model, a whole range of solutions was used for these purposes. First of all, this is the optimization of the arrangement of tread elements that prevent the occurrence of resonant noises and vibrations. In combination with the elastic compound, this provides comfort inside the car, both in city driving and on high-speed highways.
Key features of the Zelda Archforce EV:
- reduced rolling resistance helps to more efficiently consume the traction battery charge and increase the range;
- the asymmetric tread pattern combines traction stability during manoeuvring with effective water evacuation from the contact patch;
- the rubber compound based on SSBR polymer and silica supports a high level of traction on dry and wet asphalt;
- the carcass design and tread pattern are adapted to the high loads and torque of electric powertrains, maintaining comfort and handling stability.
