Winter tire for passenger cars Yokohama Ice Guard IG53 is designed for operation in regions with a very cold climate. It is distinguished by the reliability of coupling properties on icy and snowy roads, braking efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, and high mileage.
The tread is made of a rubber compound that, due to its porous structure, is able to dry the contact patch, which enhances coupling, primarily on wet and icy surfaces. The tread pattern is characterized by an exceptional density of lamella arrangement. Narrow slits with a "three-dimensional" profile of the walls form hundreds of sharp edges that allow for intense acceleration and effective braking even on the smoothest ice. The presence of intersecting grooves in the shoulder zones ensures reliable coupling and stability when driving on snow.
Key features of Yokohama Ice Guard IG53
- special rubber compound, elastic at low temperatures, capable of absorbing moisture, with increased resistance to heat and abrasive wear;
- "three-dimensional" lamellae improve longitudinal coupling on wet and icy surfaces;
- dense arrangement of tread elements in the central part reduces rolling resistance and wear, improves trajectory stability, and increases handling accuracy.
