Description Yokohama Geolandar X-AT G016
All-season tire Yokohama Geolandar X-AT G016 is designed for use in crossovers, SUVs, pickups and light trucks. The model, although it belongs to the All Terrain category, shows its strongest sides on dirt surfaces, differing in such conditions with stability of traction properties, strength, comfortable quiet and smooth ride.
To a large extent, the "preference" of this model for operation on dirt surfaces is due to the design of its tread pattern. It is a combination of massive blocks that are distributed in functional areas depending on their shape and size. In the central part, there are complex-shaped elements with differently directed curved edges that continue into the shoulder areas, providing maximum traction on dirt surfaces while maintaining it when moving in both directions. The blocks partially overlap each other, actually forming a continuous composite longitudinal rib. This significantly reduces rolling resistance, heat, noise, and wear when driving on paved roads, increasing directional stability at high speeds. The shoulder blocks increase stability and handling accuracy when maneuvering, and on dirt, due to their elongated transverse edges, they improve traction and braking properties. Another feature of the tire is the optimized profile of its tread, the curvature of which provides the contact patch with a shape close to an ellipse. This gives the tire balanced operating properties, improving traction and handling, along with fuel efficiency and resistance to abrasive wear.
Key features of Yokohama Geolandar X-AT G016:
- universal tread pattern with a large number of blocks and lamellas provides stable traction on any road surface;
- the combination of block arrangement with a certain pitch and zigzag grooves reduces noise and vibrations, increasing acoustic comfort, prevents rapid tread wear;
- an elliptical contact patch improves traction and handling, reduces wear and rolling resistance;
- a special rubber compound resistant to abrasive wear, chip formation, and cracking, ensuring a long service life in the most severe operating conditions
