New Yokohama Tires to Debut in Off-Road Racing

Yokohama is preparing to test its new Geolandar A/T4 tires during a racing weekend at the Crandon International Raceway (CIR) in Crandon, Wisconsin, USA, where the finals of the American Championship Off-Road (COR) and the Ultra4 series will take place.

CIR is considered the largest short-course off-road racing track in the world, and the new tires, introduced in the spring of 2024, will be installed on a Volkswagen Beetle in the Class 11 category, released in the 1960s, whose crew includes Nick and Chris Eisenhauer, who usually participate in desert off-road racing. In addition, they will be used by Ricky Johnson, John Holtger, and Nick Visser, participants in the Pro2 and Pro-Spec classes.

Yokohama Geolandar A/T4 replaced the Geolandar A/T G015 model and is the fourth-generation model in the Geolandar All-Terrain tire line, introduced in 1996. According to the manufacturer, compared to the G015, the characteristics have been improved both off-road and on asphalt, and resistance to cuts and punctures has also been increased, and the 3PMSF marking, which the tires received in all sizes, indicates that they can work effectively even in case of heavy snowfall.

For the weekend in Crandon, Yokohama will also provide other off-road tires, such as the Geolandar M/T, Geolandar X-AT, and Geolandar A/T XD.
