The summer tire Yokohama Bluearth ES32A is a special version of the same model without the letter A in the index. It differs in the width of the tread from 225 mm, due to which its tread has not four, as in the standard tire, but five longitudinal ribs. This adapts the tire to movement at high speed, giving additional stability to the grip. In other driving qualities, both tires are identical.
Increased service life
This model was created using BlueEarth technology. A significant part of the solutions contained in it are designed to ensure the duration of the service life. In particular, to do this, the tread profile was optimized so that under the load of the car's weight, the contact patch increases and becomes almost square in shape. These features significantly reduce the level of aggressive impact on the tread, reducing its uneven wear. The same properties are additionally enhanced by the design of the breaker, the edges of which extend to the sidewalls, and its composition includes another synthetic cord with longitudinally arranged fibers.
Confident behavior on wet pavement
The tread contains four grooves in the central zone, not three, like the standard tire. This significantly reduces the risk of aquaplaning. It is worth noting the presence of inclined grooves in the same zone, which significantly accelerate the removal of water from the contact patch.
Z-shaped rib edges
Two of the three ribs in the central zone have Z-shaped edges. This solution enhances the stability of the grip properties during straight-line movement and also improves acoustic comfort.
Stability in turns
The tire has an extremely low tendency to lateral skidding. This is achieved by the structure of the edge zones. The blocks that form them are unfolded across and rigidly connected to each other by a continuous longitudinal rib, limiting their mobility and, along with it, the deformation of the elements. It is worth noting the profile of the tread along the edges of the zone and the increased size of the blocks contained here. These features significantly increase cross-country grip.
Innovative rubber compound
A significant part of the advantages of this tire is provided by the physicochemical properties of the rubber compound. The basis of its composition is fine-dispersed particles of silicon oxide. They allow the tread to tightly envelop the road surface, providing excellent grip with it even at low temperatures. Special polymers, technical carbon, and orange peel oil increase the compound's strength, abrasion resistance, and durability.
