Yokohama AVS ES100

The Yokohama AVS ES100 summer tire is specifically designed for sports versions of passenger cars, representing a model of ultra-high performance. It is characterized by uncompromising traction at any speed, increased precision in handling, the ability to intensely accelerate and brake on wet surfaces, along with high durability and resistance to abrasive wear and prolonged heating.

The tread pattern is designed in an aggressive style, featuring grooves located at an increased angle of inclination and directed against the direction of movement, while having a curved shape. These features allow them to use the rotation of the wheel to drain water with extremely high efficiency, thereby reducing the risk of a continuous water film forming between the tire and the road surface to a minimum. The elongated and curved edges formed by the grooves and blocks provide stable traction and braking properties, along with reduced rolling resistance, in such conditions. Another important feature is the presence of a solid longitudinal rib in the central part of the tread, running exactly along its middle. This element, which is highly resistant to deformation, provides stability of traction properties and handling precision at high speeds. It is worth noting the profile of the tread part, borrowed from tires for road-ring racing. It has an almost unchanged curvature almost throughout the area, slightly increasing at the very edge of the tread. This maximally expands the contact patch, giving it an elliptical shape with aligning edges in the shoulder areas. This solution significantly enhances the traction properties on dry surfaces, while providing high handling precision and resistance to uneven tire wear, increasing its mileage when driving in a dynamic style.
