Description Yokohama Avid Ascend GT
The Yokohama Avid Ascend GT summer tire is a "touring" model designed for long-distance driving at high speeds. It is characterized by improved traction on wet pavement, handling comfort, low noise levels, and a smooth ride.
The tire's tread is made from a TriBlend compound, which features a composition that includes "silica", orange oil, and a complex of special polymers. In combination with the use of a special technology that ensures high uniformity of the finished product, this significantly improves the tire's traction on wet pavement, gives the tread excellent resistance to abrasive wear and punctures, and also reduces rolling resistance.
The tread pattern is notable for its almost "winter" density of lamella cuts. The sharp edges formed by these elements are mostly arranged transversely, which increases traction and braking intensity on wet pavement. The numerous multidirectional grooves in these conditions effectively combat aquaplaning, minimizing the risk of this effect even with significant tire wear.
Despite the presence of a large number of elements in the tread pattern, the tire is favorably distinguished by a relatively low noise and vibration level even on "rough" asphalt. This is due to several factors, one of which is the optimization of the tread profile, which ensures an even distribution of load across the contact patch. Additionally, the pattern elements are arranged with an offset relative to each other, which reduces the risk of forming resonant noises and vibrations.
Key features of the Yokohama Avid Ascend GT
- The TriBlend rubber compound improves traction on wet pavement, reduces fuel consumption, and minimizes wear;
- The increased density of lamellas and the "three-dimensional" profile of the groove walls increase traction and braking intensity on wet pavement;
- The optimized profile and arrangement of the tread pattern elements reduce noise and vibration.
