Description Yokohama A460B
Belonging to the line of high-performance summer models Advan, the Yokohama A460B tire demonstrates the greatest efficiency in turns and at high speed, ensuring not only safety and comfort but also driving pleasure. The balanced operational properties of this model are ensured by the use of a number of technologies in its design, which, under certain circumstances, enhance and complement each other's action.
Improved high-speed stability
One example of such interaction of technologies is the design of the central part of the tread and the breaker located directly under it. The double solid tread rib, located exactly in the middle of the tire, has high resistance to deformation. This provides improved stability at high speed, and also - fast and accurate reactions to steering wheel turns, as well as reduces rolling resistance and prevents uneven wear. As for the breaker, it is distinguished by a multi-layer structure, entirely made of synthetic cord. As a result, a very rigid and lightweight "substrate" is located directly under the tread, significantly increasing the stability of the traction properties when driving at high speed. At the same time, its low weight reduces rolling resistance.
Improved resistance to hydroplaning
The tread drainage system of this model performs several functions at once. The main one, of course, is the removal of water from the contact patch. It does this more than successfully, thanks to the significant internal volume of the drainage grooves and their increased number. Only in the central zone of the tread are there five longitudinal grooves. As for the "side" functions, they are performed due to the numerous notches in the even tread ribs and the multi-step arrangement of transverse drainage grooves in the shoulder areas of the tread. This prevents the development of resonance noise and vibrations.
Key features of Yokohama A460B
- excellent stability and traction stability at high speed due to three double tread ribs in the center of the tread and a rigid breaker structure;
- exceptional resistance to hydroplaning is provided by five longitudinal drainage grooves.
