The Vredestein Ultrac Satin summer tire, like its predecessor the Ultrac Cento, is designed for the most powerful versions of passenger cars and was developed in collaboration with the Italian design studio Giugiaro. All technical aspects were handled by specialists from the Apollo R&D center. The use of the latest technologies and materials has made it possible to significantly improve all the main characteristics, which allowed receiving several "A" letters in the European marking.
Updated compound
The improvement of characteristics is largely ensured by the physico-chemical properties of the tread rubber compound. Its composition has changed significantly compared to the previous model. It includes new-generation polymers. With their help, the uniformity of the rubber compound and its high resistance to stretching are ensured, which made it possible to further increase the proportion of silica content, thereby improving traction on wet surfaces.
Z-shaped grooves
The central part of the tread contains a large number of Z-shaped drainage grooves. These elements perform several functions at once. First of all, it is a reduction in the risk of aquaplaning. Such grooves also form numerous edges, the configuration of which allows the tire to grip the wet surface much more reliably, especially when braking. The stopping distance from a speed of 80 km/h compared to the previous model has decreased by 3.3 meters at once.
Main features of the Vredestein Ultrac Satin tire
- a rubber compound with special polymers and increased silica content improves traction on wet surfaces;
- Z-shaped grooves prevent aquaplaning, reduce the braking distance on wet surfaces;
- wide shoulder blocks on the outside provide reliable handling during high-speed cornering.
