Released by one of the well-known Dutch manufacturers, the Vredestein Snowtrac 2 non-studded winter tire is designed primarily for small to medium-sized passenger cars. This model is produced in 20 of the most common sizes, ranging from 175/65R14 to 215/55R17, allowing it to be installed on most popular passenger car models. At the same time, the tire has been assigned speed indices from T to H, allowing it to be operated at speeds of up to 190-210 km/h.
The tread of this model features a symmetrical directional pattern with a very aggressive design. This tire is a prime example of an extremely thoughtful approach to creating a tread pattern with a clear division into a central part and shoulder zones. In the central part of the tread, there is a single longitudinal rib, which is a series of separate V-shaped blocks. This solution allowed the Vredestein Snowtrac 2 tire to have excellent deceleration efficiency, especially on slippery surfaces, as well as excellent directional stability and resistance to lateral skidding. Additionally, the V-shaped design of the blocks allows for efficient implementation of the traction forces applied to the wheels when accelerating on snowy or icy surfaces.
Furthermore, it is impossible not to note the excellent effectiveness of the drainage system, which perfectly handles both the removal of water from the contact patch and the removal of snow and dirt from the tread. As a result, the tire has excellent resistance to aquaplaning in combination with excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread.
Key Features of Vredestein Snowtrac 2
- excellent handling and traction on slippery surfaces, thanks to the innovative V-shaped design of the symmetrical directional tread pattern;
- a rubber compound with silicon-containing components provided the tire with excellent grip on wet and snowy surfaces, excellent elasticity at low temperatures, and excellent wear resistance;
- excellent resistance to aquaplaning, excellent self-cleaning properties, due to the high efficiency of the drainage system.
