Description Vredestein Nord-Trac 2
The Vredestein Nord-Trac 2 winter non-studded tire is one of the novelties from the well-known Dutch manufacturer. This model was specially designed for the harsh winter conditions of northern countries, including, of course, Russia. The development of the tire was accompanied by large-scale testing, as a result of which a number of significant modifications were made, ensuring maximum traction on various types of winter surfaces, characteristic of both Scandinavian and Baltic countries and Russia. At the same time, the tire was optimized for moderate winter conditions, while maintaining excellent handling on dry and wet asphalt. The model is produced in 11 most popular sizes with a landing diameter from 14 to 17 inches.
One of the design features of the novelty from the Dutch tire manufacturers is the new structure of the shoulder zones of the tread, which are two additional rows of separate blocks. On the surface of these tread elements, the tire engineers placed a multitude of lamellas, which are located at different angles relative to the direction of movement. Thanks to this solution, it was possible to achieve significant improvement in traction on icy surfaces, braking and acceleration efficiency, as well as significantly increase the stability of behavior when making an emergency maneuver around an obstacle.
The central part of the Vredestein Nord-Trac 2 tread is equipped with special elements that increase the structural rigidity. This made it possible to improve the directional stability, as well as give the handling character stability and reliability, especially when driving on asphalt.
Also, the rigid central part of the tread allowed to compensate for its improved elasticity. Thanks to the addition of special components, the rubber mixture of the new winter tire remains sufficiently soft even at very low temperatures.
Main features of the Vredestein Nord-Trac 2 model
- A V-shaped directional symmetric tread pattern with an uneven step of block placement provides excellent traction, both on winter surfaces and on dry and wet asphalt;
- High resistance to aquaplaning and slushplaning, thanks to the special shape of the grooves and lamellas, effectively removing water and snow from the contact patch;
- High elasticity at low temperatures is provided by a new rubber compound.
