The Vredestein Comtrac summer light truck tire can be characterized by three words: comfort, reliability, and durability. At the same time, it should be taken into account that this statement applies to a model designed exclusively for small-tonnage cargo transport, ranging from minivans to light trucks and vans. Additionally, this model stands out for its excellent applicability. Thanks to the availability of 15 different sizes in the assortment, this tire is perfectly suitable for installation on most modern models of commercial vehicles.
S-shaped tread design
The choice of an S-shaped tread pattern was not made by chance. The primary task for the developers was to ensure the longest possible service life. The S-shaped pattern is distinguished by excellent resistance to uneven wear, due to the very even distribution of the external load across the contact patch. Also, for this reason, the Vredestein Comtrac tire tread consists of only four longitudinal ribs. This technical solution made each tread block very massive, i.e., better suited for higher external pressure created by the weight of the cargo being transported.
High level of comfort
In motion, the Vredestein Comtrac tire demonstrates a low noise level in combination with a smooth ride. The reduction of noise and vibration was achieved thanks to the same S-shaped tread pattern design. The fact is that all tread elements of each longitudinal rib are arranged with a different pitch relative to each other, which minimizes the likelihood of resonance noise and vibration, which was confirmed during independent road tests.
A smooth ride comparable to the best passenger tires was achieved due to the original carcass design, consisting of several layers of steel metal cord and nylon fibers. In addition, the presence of an additional layer of steel cord is a eloquent testimony to the tire's suitability for heavy operating conditions, which our country is famous for.
Excellent traction on wet surfaces
During independent tests, it was found that this tire has a remarkable resistance to aquaplaning and excellent traction on wet roads. largely, this was achieved thanks to the block structure of the tread pattern. I.e., the presence of a large number of separate blocks allowed the tread pattern to be saturated with a huge number of drainage channels that permeate it, both longitudinally and transversely. At the same time, the longitudinal drainage grooves are of impressive size, which allows them to accommodate a huge volume of water, which is then removed from the contact patch to the outside through multiple transverse drainage channels. The practical result of such technical tricks was excellent resistance to aquaplaning, thanks to which this tire provides a very high level of safety in rainy weather.
Main features of Vredestein Comtrac
- A long service life is ensured by high resistance to uneven wear, achieved thanks to the flat profile and massive size of the tread blocks;
- Exceptional resistance to aquaplaning for a commercial tire is ensured by two wide longitudinal drainage grooves and a tread depth of 11 mm, which allows them to accommodate a huge amount of water;
- Low noise level thanks to the S-shaped arrangement of tread elements;
- High strength, resistance to punctures and cuts, as well as a smooth ride, were achieved thanks to the multi-layered carcass design;
- Special reinforcements on the sidewalls prevent damage from curbs;
- The ability to move at high speeds, up to 190 km/h, is confirmed by the corresponding speed indices - R and T.
