Description Tunga Zodiak 2 205/55 R16 97T

Tunga Zodiak 2 – summer tire, which is an analog of Cordiant Comfort, having inherited all the features of the tread structure. The model is distinguished by its wide applicability, both for domestic cars and foreign manufacturers. Currently, the novelty, the production of which began at the end of 2016, is presented in 11 sizes, ranging from R13 to R16.

Handling

The stiffness of the tire's design is provided by a multi-layer breaker, which consists of 2 layers of metal cord and a layer of nylon. This structure allows not only to ensure good handling due to its stiffness but also to protect the tire from the effects of mechanical elements, i.e. punctures. All this has affected the lifespan of the model, which is distinguished by its duration compared to similar tires in this price category.

Two-layer tread

The manufacturer used a tread that consists of 2 layers of rubber. The inner layer is more rigid, it is located under the grooves and provides increased strength of the structure, also contributing to fuel economy.

The outer rubber compound is softer, providing better traction characteristics, both on dry asphalt and in conditions of high humidity. Special components in the composition of the upper layer give it wear resistance, which makes it possible to operate the tire for many seasons without losing its functionality.

Tread structure features

This model provides for 3 ribs, the central one of which is solid, and the other two have deep notches that connect to the general water drainage system. This design ensures efficient handling during maneuvers and also contributes to the rapid removal of excess moisture from the contact area. Thanks to the balance of these characteristics, the driver receives high accuracy of the suspension's response to the actions of the steering wheel.

This feature of the tread structure also affected the length of the braking distance, which was significantly reduced. And this reflected on the overall safety.

Key features of Tunga Zodiak 2

- budget tire with characteristics of a higher class;
- two-layer tread compound;
- durable metal cord with a nylon layer, providing protection against punctures and good handling;
- protection against aquaplaning is provided by a developed water drainage system;
- clarity of handling on a wet road is ensured by the presence of three ribs in the central part of the tread.

Tunga Zodiak 2: Practical summer tyre for city and dry roads

The model is oriented towards owners of domestic cars and budget foreign vehicles, who value affordability. The main advantage is stability on dry pavement, and a particular feature of its application requires careful selection of the set during installation.

Who is it suitable for: The tyre performs well in urban traffic, where speeds remain reasonable. The design repeats proven solutions of a similar class, providing predictable behaviour on dry asphalt. The reinforced cord contributes to protection against external influences when driving carefully. Many buyers note the advantageous ratio of cost and resource for 2-4 seasons. Often, the current year of manufacture is encountered, which is a pleasant bonus when purchasing. The three-rib tread pattern helps to effectively drain water in moderate rain. This is a rational choice for Lada, Granta and similar vehicles with diameters R13-R16. The reliability of the design allows the product to be operated on roads with different surface quality. For daily commutes to work and household needs, the model is optimally suited.

Who should consider an alternative: It's better to consider other options if frequent highway trips at high speeds are planned. Some drivers note an increased level of tyre noise after 100 km/h. On wet asphalt, traction may be inferior to more expensive counterparts, which requires reducing speed in the rain. There are cases where perfect operation requires careful wheel balancing at a station. For powerful cars with low profiles, it's more reasonable to choose a specialized class. You shouldn't expect sports dynamics or record-breaking silence in the cabin. If absolute evenness of ride without additional adjustment is critical for you, it's worth keeping this in mind.

Main reason for choice: The main argument in favor of buying is the opportunity to get a working summer tyre at a minimal cost. You pay for basic safety and passability in urban conditions, without overpaying for the brand. A reasonable compromise is in controlling the evenness of weight distribution during installation. If your driving style is calm, and your routes pass mainly through the city, the model will justify the investment. The level of expectations should correspond to the price segment. If these conditions are met, the tyre will become a reliable tool for several seasons. It is important to check the set on site before installation.
