Tunga Zodiak 2

Tunga Zodiak 2 – summer tire, which is an analog of Cordiant Comfort, having inherited all the features of the tread structure. The model is distinguished by its wide applicability, both for domestic cars and foreign manufacturers. Currently, the novelty, the production of which began at the end of 2016, is presented in 11 sizes, ranging from R13 to R16.

Handling

The stiffness of the tire's design is provided by a multi-layer breaker, which consists of 2 layers of metal cord and a layer of nylon. This structure allows not only to ensure good handling due to its stiffness but also to protect the tire from the effects of mechanical elements, i.e. punctures. All this has affected the lifespan of the model, which is distinguished by its duration compared to similar tires in this price category.

Two-layer tread

The manufacturer used a tread that consists of 2 layers of rubber. The inner layer is more rigid, it is located under the grooves and provides increased strength of the structure, also contributing to fuel economy.

The outer rubber compound is softer, providing better traction characteristics, both on dry asphalt and in conditions of high humidity. Special components in the composition of the upper layer give it wear resistance, which makes it possible to operate the tire for many seasons without losing its functionality.

Tread structure features

This model provides for 3 ribs, the central one of which is solid, and the other two have deep notches that connect to the general water drainage system. This design ensures efficient handling during maneuvers and also contributes to the rapid removal of excess moisture from the contact area. Thanks to the balance of these characteristics, the driver receives high accuracy of the suspension's response to the actions of the steering wheel.

This feature of the tread structure also affected the length of the braking distance, which was significantly reduced. And this reflected on the overall safety.
