The Tigar SUV Winter tire for SUVs and crossovers has recently appeared in the Serbian brand's range. Like previous models, it is characterized by high operational properties for its price segment. This was achieved through the use of modern materials and technical solutions, as well as the fact that the development was carried out by specialists from the Michelin company.
Reliable grip without studs
The tire is equipped with a studdedless tread. Their absence is compensated by several design features. Most of the grip properties on slippery surfaces are provided by lamellas. Narrow slits are located at a distance of several millimeters from each other, which made it possible to increase the number of edges that the tire can grip to the road surface to several thousand. In addition to the quantity, the effectiveness of the lamellas is significantly increased by their inclined position and shape. In the shoulder areas, they are made wavy, and in the central part - with sharp corners.
Another factor that enhances grip on winter surfaces is the rubber compound used in the manufacture of the tire. More than two-thirds of it consists of silica. This component gives the tire elasticity at an ambient temperature below 0 degrees Celsius. This feature allows the tread to fit more closely to the road surface, providing better grip with it.
Reliability on bad roads
This model is also characterized by reliability and a soft, comfortable ride. This is due to the fact that it was initially developed for SUVs and crossovers. It is for this reason that there are no reinforced sidewalls, as is the case with analogs from many other brands that prefer to adapt an already existing "passenger" tire. Instead, the developers preferred to create a tire "from scratch", including the carcass. It is made double. The additional cord provides the tire not only with increased carrying capacity but also with high resistance to impact loads.
